The picturesque ground of Old Boltonians AFC is located in attractive Chapeltown, a moorland village of 18th century stone cottages nestled into the south facing slopes of the West Pennine Hills.
The club is situated 5 miles north of Bolton, 16 miles from Manchester and around 40 miles from Liverpool, Leeds and Blackpool.
The pitches at the ground are claimed to be the oldest in the world with matches first played there in the 1830's.
Old Boltonians AFC, who are members of the Lancashire Amateur League, were formed in 1920 and have used the current pitches since 1952.

||STEPPING HILL (prov)
A quirky fact but in 2010 a section of the 14th Jersey Veterans tournament was staged at Old Boltonians AFC.
The Icelandic Volcano, Eyjafjallajokull, had erupted and it's subsequent ash cloud closed European air space the day teams were due to fly to Jersey. The tournament still went ahead in Jersey but featured only teams from the Channel Islands, including a Guernsey side who arrived by hastily arranged private yacht.
A few weeks later we organised a Jersey Veterans tournament for UK mainland teams unable to reach the Channel Islands, at Old Boltonians AFC.
We currently have two hotel options.
