An 11-a-side event for mens teams played in Barcelona.

LOCATION

The Barcelona Progreso Carrasco Cup will be held for the 16th time in 2024 in the Catalan Capital. Teams have the choice of staying in Barcelona or on the nearby Costa Brava, in the resort of Lloret de Mar.

The cosmopolitan city of Barcelona is just a 2 hour flight from the. UK.Â Â The Catalan Capital nestles between the Mediterranean and Mountains ,and offers teams the very best nightlife, sightseeing opportunities and lazy days on the City's beaches.

The lively resort of Lloret de Mar is situated 30 minutes from the historic city of Girona and an hour to the north of Barcelona. Once the typical package holiday for Brits, Lloret de Mar has morphed into a delightful town that caters for tourists from all over Europe. The nightlife remains as good as ever, but now the resort can boast EU blue flag beaches, excellent restaurants, casino and many other attractions.

OUTLINE ITINERARY

Thu 13th June	Optional arrival day.
Fri 14h June:	Arrive in Barcelona. Transfer from airport and check in to your accommodation. Free day to explore your resort and nightlife.
Sat 15th June:	The Barcelona Progreso Carrasco Cup followed by presentation of trophies and socialising with your hosts and opponents.
Sun 16th June:	Free day for relaxation, sunbathing or sightseeing.Â Visit the waterpark or go-karting or play golf. Other options include Nou Camp tour or Barcelona city tour. Optional departure day.
Mon 17th June:	Check out of accommodation before transferring to the airport for your return flights.

ACCOMMODATION

In Central Barcelona we use the Generator Hostel in a good location close to the city centre and Sagrada Familia, but within walking distance of trendy and cheaper districts of Eixample and Gracia. The accommodation has a great vibe with bar, cafe, lounge and chill out areas, restaurant, 24 hour reception and free WIFI.Â Rooms are multi bedded but with smaller 2 - 4 rooms available. Other hotels are also available at a supplement

We use 4* hotel Olympic Park of the Evenia group in Lloret de Mar. The hotel is located close to theÂ resort centre and the main beach. The 4* resort hotel has 7 swimming pools, tennis courts, table tennis, gymnasium, squash, sauna, solarium, bars, restaurants and nightclub.Â All rooms are twin or triple bedded with shower, w.c. and satellite T.V. Extra nights are available, prices on request.

FOOTBALL

The 16th Progreso Carrasco Cup welcomes mens teams from all over Europe to compete in the tournament. The 11 a side event is played at Progresso Carasco on latest generation synthetic pitch, around 25 minutes from the city centre.

Facilities at the atmospheric venue include bar, cafe, changing rooms, first aid.

A maximum of 6 teams can compete in the event. In 2023 there were 3 teams from Spain 1 from England 1 from Belgium and 1 from Israel.

Tournament play is typically from 2pm - 8pm, but timings can vary depending on host club and pitch avaialabilty.

OUR OPINION

A social end of season tournament close to the centre of Barcelona. The football is competitive and the host club are friendly and welcoming. When the football is done enjoy a beer with team mates and opponents before returning to experience Barcelona's famous nightlife.Â Â
