The Bruges Cup was formed by ISL Football Tours in 2013 in co-operation with the host club, KSK, and it is now established as one of Belgium's premier youth tournaments.

The tournament will take place for the 10th time in 2024, within walking distance of the country's most beautiful city.

Bruges

Bruges is one of Europe's most visited and best preserved medieval cities. The historic city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and Bruges is often referred to as the 'Venice of the North', due to the many beautiful canals and bridges.

The city is easy to reach for UK teams, being only 20 minutes to an hour from the Channel ports of Zeebrugge, Dunkirk and Calais.

Bruges is also accessible by Eurostar and by air via Brussels .

Prices

The price of £255 per person is based on 50+ persons travelling and staying at Tourist Hotel (bed and breakfast) or Youth Hostel (half board) in Bruges or the Belgian coast for 3 nights. Please add £40 per person for Sun Parks or Center Parcs.

Transport

Executive coach with video, wc and hot drinks facility included free of charge for groups of 25 persons or more. Smaller groups will have luxury standard coaches suitable for the size of their party, upgrades to executive vehicles are available. 

Sailings

There is a choice of short and long sea routes plus the Channel Tunnel. Please note cabin accommodation is provided on the overnight journey from Hull - Zeebrugge.

Flight Options

Should you wish to travel by air, the most suitable airports to fly into are Brussels and Charleroi, we arrange transfers from here to your accommodation and sports grounds. Prices on request.

Eurostar

Should you wish to travel by Eurostar, transfer at Brussels Midi for trains to Bruges.

    

Accommodation

The following accommodation is available in Bruges and surrounding areas.

Youth Hostels

Youth hostels are available in Bruges and also in the Belgian coast resorts of Ostend, Blankenberg and Oostduinkerke.

Bruges Youth Hostel is located within walking distance of the tournament venue, city centre and train station. Rooms are 4-6 bedded with private shower/wc or with shared facilities. The hostel has recreational facilities for players and a cosy bar available for parents.

Hotels

The Ibis Bruges Centrum is located by Bruges station, close to the city centre and the tournament venue. Rooms are 2-3 bedded with private shower / wc.

Other hotels are available in Bruges and on the Belgian coast at Ostend and Blankenberg.

Sun Parks Oostduinkirke

Sun Parks is situated just inside the Belgian border at Koksidje, between the Channel Ports of Dunkirk (30 minutes), Dunkirk (45 minutes) and Bruges (45 minutes), a perfect location for the Bruges Cup.  

Center Parcs De Haan  

De Haan is located in the dunes of the Belgian coast, close to the seaside resorts of Ostend and Blankenberg, and within half an hour of Bruges. Center Parcs De Haan has a sub tropical pool, an extensive range of sport and leisure facilities, shops, bars and restaurants. Prices based on full occupancy of accommodation.

Football

The competition will be played at KSK Steenbrugge just 5 - 10 minutes from the city centre of Bruges. Teams will be split into groups of 4 or 5. On Saturday teams will play group games and on Sunday, knock-out games, placement positions and finals. Age dispensations may be applied for. The venue has 4 quality grass pitches, clubhouse and canteen, changing facilities, first aid assistance.

  

History

The 9th Bruges Cup had a similar line up of teams in 2023 as before the pandemic  and the following line up of 56 teams from Belgium, Holland, France and England.  

   

Social Programme

It wouldn't be a Belgian tournament without a beer tent offering a selection of the country's finest ales! For those staying in and around Bruges, there is entertainment each night in the marquee including live music with local bands. 

Sightseeing Excursions

In Bruges itself visit the Club Brugge stadium, or the Chocolate and Frites museums! On the coast, the city of Ostend and seaside resort of Blankenberg are worth a visit. At Ypres, forever linked with World War 1, is the site of the Menin Gate, where the last post is played every evening. Nearby is Bellewaerde Theme Park.
