Two day men's open age, veterans and walking football tournaments, held on a choice of two weekends, on the sun drenched holiday of Majorca

LOCATION

The lovely resort of Santa Ponsa is the setting for the Majorca 5's. Santa Ponsa is situated on the glorious south west coast of Majorca and offers great beaches, watersports, bars and restaurants. Magaluf is just 10 minutes away by taxi and the capital Palma and it's airport about 30 minutes distance.Â

OUTLINE ITINERARY

ThursdayÂ	Optional arrival day. Transfer to your resort. Check in to your accommodation. Free time to relax by the pool or on the beach, and then sample the fantastic nightlife. 9pm - Opening Ceremony 10pm - Opening Party with Professional DJÂ
FridayÂ	Optional arrival day. The Majorca 5's commences. Teams have the option of playing on Friday and Sunday, or Saturday and Sunday.
SaturdayÂ	Majorca 5's continues with first round group games.Â Tonight there are parties by the sports complex and at the meeting point at the Manhattan Bar, Santa Ponsa.Â
SundayÂ	The tournament concludes with the finals and the presentation of the trophies and socialising. 9pm - Closing Ceremony 10pm - Closing Theme Party with Professional DJ
MondayÂ	Teams depart. Extra nights available.

FLIGHTS

Flights are available from most UK and major International airports, we can assist if required. Teams can travel any dates around the tournament day in order to secure cheapest flights.

Low cost airlines Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2,Â Thomson and othersÂ offer reasonably priced flights to Majorca.

Transfer time from Palma Airport to Santa Ponsa is approximately 30 minutes.

ACCOMMODATION

We feature the 3* Hotel Santa Ponsa Playa and the Verdemar Apartments in Santa Ponsa.

Santa Ponsa Playa rooms are twin bedded with shower, w.c. and satellite T.V. Half board basis; breakfast and dinner (buffet basis). Extra nights available at Â£52 per person.

The Verdemar Apartments are studios or 1 bedroom apartments (maximum 4 persons) with kitchen, bathroom, balcony and sea view. Self catering basis. Extra nights at Â£35 per person.

Underoccupancy supplements, 4 nights: 3 persons +Â£36 per person, 2 persons +Â£54 per person.

For those seeking a superior hotel we use the 4* Hotel Rey Don Jaime in Santa Ponsa, opposite the tournament complex and just 10 minutes from Magaluf.

FOOTBALL

The football tournament is played in the excellent CD Santa Ponsa complex, just 10 minutes from Magaluf. It's located close to the centre of the resort and within walking distance of Santa Ponsa's fantastic beach. It's a new facility withÂ latest generation artificial pitches,Â bar and restaurant with satellite TV and beer terrace.

More than 2,200 players compete in the mens and womens sections from 32 countries.

On the first weekend of 10th - 13th May additionally there is the option to play in the 7 a side mens open. Also on this weekend mens 35+, 45+, 5 a side.Â

The second weekend 17th - 19th May incorporates a mens 55+ event, 5 a side.

The event incorporates competitions for Mens and Ladies open age teams on both weekends, and older categories played on the second weekend including Walking Football tournaments.Â Â

WALKING FOOTBALL (17 - 19 May) - 6 a side - No Goalkeeper

A welcome addition to the event, the Majorca Walking Football Tournaments will beÂ played over 2 days at the following age groups:Â

Men 50+ (dispensation allowed for 2 players 45-49 years old)Â

Men 60+ (dispensation allowed for 2 players 55-59 years old)Â

Men 70+ (dispensation allowed for 4 players 65-69 years old)

Ladies 40+ (no age dispensation)

HISTORY

2024 sees the 17th event and previous winners of the tournament include FC Alpha (London), Poynton RBL (Stockport), Villa FC (Liverpool) , Robin Hood (Portsmouth), Clanfield FC (Portsmouth), Arenal All Stars (Majorca),Â Elect (Liverpool), Bridge House (Herts) and BWFC Walkers (Bolton).Â

The tournament will run alongside the Magaluf 5's women's event.
