Costa Blanca Cup 2012 8th - 14th July Price from £249 per person The Costa Blanca Cup will be played in the sun drenched Mediterranean resort of Benidorm for the 19th time in 2012. More than 230 teams from the Americas, Africa, Europe and all regions of Spain will compete in one of Europe's finest tournaments. Fully Inclusive of:
Tournament Location Benidorm is situated on the Costa Blanca on the Mediterranean coast. It is Europe's no 1 resort, offering fine beaches, shopping, and nightlife. Terra Mitica Theme Park and Aqualandia Water Park are fantastic attractions, and free transfers are available.
Outline Itinerary Sun 8th July Arrive Alicante airport. You'll be met and transferred to Benidorm. Registration of teams and check into accommodation. Rest of day to relax and unwind. Mon 9th July Costa Blanca Cup commences with group games. In the evening is the Opening Ceremony. Teams parade through Benidorm from Levante Beach to the Ampitheatre where they are then welcomed to the Costa Blanca Cup by the mayor and organisers. An evening of music, dance and flamenco follows followed by a firework finale. Tue 10th July Group games continue. Free time to visit Terra Mitica Theme Park. Wed 11th July Completion of group stage. Team managers match in the evening. Thu 12th July Knock-out stage begins. Free time to visit Aqualandia Water Park. Tonight there is the Team Leaders dinner. Fri 13th July Knock-out stage continues, including quarter and semi finals of boys age groups and finals of the girls sections. In the evening there is the Festival Dance Party including souvenir exhange. Sat 14th July Boys finals followed by trophy presentations. Departure of teams. Sun 15th July Optional departure day. Accommodation There is a range of accommodation available, including Schools, Bungalow Park, 2*, 3* and 4* Hotels. The impressive 3*+ Hotel Presidente in the centre of the Levante Beach area of Benidorm is a popular option, facilities include swimming pools, bars, restaurants, nightclub, cabaret, entertainment program, internet and Sky TV lounge. Football All matches are played on top quality grass or latest generation artificial pitches. Games are played in several venues in Benidorm and in nearby towns and villages of Altea, Alfaz, Calpe, La Nucia, Finestraat and Vilajoyasa. Games are played in the morning or evening to avoid the afternoon sun and heat. Age Groups Boys (11 a side ): 1993-95, 1996/97, 1998, 1999 Boys (7 a side) : 2000, 2001, 2002/03 Girls (11 a side): 1994/95, 1996/97 Ladies (11 a side) : Open age Playing Times 11 a side : 2 x 25 minutes: Finals 2 x 30 minutes 7 a side : 2 x 20 minutes: Finals 2 x 25 minutes Format The Costa Blanca Cup is played in two stages. In the first stage teams are put into groups of 4 or 5. The top 2 in each group proceed through to the A finals, the 3rd and 4th go through to the B finals. In the 2nd stage games are played on a knock out basis through to the finals. Dispensation Age dispensation may be applied for. Special dispensation rules apply to teams from England. Getting There Flights operate to Alicante from most London and regional airports. The low cost airlines Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2, Bmibaby, FlyBe, Monarch Airlines and charter airlines including Thomson, Thomas Cook and many others operate from the UK to Alicante.
